On studio
On studio is a ceramic studio located in the rural village of Gerswalde, about an hour north of Berlin. It is a place where work and life naturally intertwine, guided by a slow, attentive rhythm of making.
With a background in photography, Hyemi Cho creates ceramics that hold light, landscape, and memory. Her work begins with quiet moments from nature and everyday life.
These impressions are shaped by hand into form, and her ceramics move beyond function, becoming small landscapes that hold the emotions of a day and the changing rhythms of the seasons.
‘pop on’—a combination of ‘Pop-up’ and ‘On studio’—is the new name for the various events we plan to showcase, including artist collaborations, pop-ups, and workshops. Please look forward to seeing on studio grow and evolve as we engage with work across diverse fields.
For this inaugural pop on, we are delighted to invite Berlin-based artist Franziska Lutze, who reinterprets a historic European traditional dyeing technique (dating back to 1638) into contemporary textile art. You can view and purchase unique, limited-edition pieces crafted from up-cycled natural materials—such as linen and cotton—alongside on studio’s ceramics.
We will also be serving the delicious cakes and coffee from Maryanne that were so popular at our flea market last May. Please feel free to drop by and enjoy a relaxing weekend with us.
